The National Limousine & Chauffeur Association are leading an action group against the proposed new harmonised IVA rules which would result in a ban on side facing seats on limousines. These rules would come in to force in either late 2010 or 2011 and would initially affect M1 class vehicles including limousines of up to eight passenger seats, but we feel eventually be applied to the larger vehicles M2 & M3 vehicles..

These proposals stem from Europe and do not take in to account the unique and very large industry that has built up in the UK for stretched limousines. Challenges and negotiation now may save the long term future of the limousine industry.

Side facing seat are banned for M1 vehicule with type aproval, and the european rules number 2007/56 says that any member country can do what they want for single vehicule approval.

It is the same problem for seat belts: two point seats belts are banned, excepted for the passenger in the middle of the rear bench on type approved vehicule, but as limos are single vehicule approved, they were allowed to have two point belts on the side and rear facing seats.

We had the same fear here in France about side facing, but nothing has happened for sva'd vehicule. About larger vehicule, it is legal for M3 type approved vehicules.

Will the NLCA now rethink its name into the NCA. National Coif Association.

With the exellent backing of the former limousine association..a dream come true.

MARK OUR WORDS COIF WILL BE NEXT.

Our thoughts could be A period of grace will be given to COIFed Limousines
and they to will be removed form the road.

Think and spend your money with care it could be an expensive Orniment.

I don't agree with you Kevin, because COIF is based on directive 2001/85 which is only only M2 and M3.
It would be illegal that a country applies it to M1.

Hi franck.

As you will be aware the SVA has Gone and the new IVA has been introduced, the operators licence for small vehicals will soon be withdrawn, We belive amandments can and will be made to take the majority off the road. THE END HAS COME. The nlca called a meeting and regardless of how much they raised they only got a very very small percentage of the limo trade to attend, that very very small group cannot and will not bank roll the rest, as we have seen before for those that have been around a while we have all seen the guys jump up and chuck in a "Monkey" Here, And A "PONY" there, And in that moment you really do think you can change the world of limos..BUT listen we are in Big brothers world and he is watching you...so if you we not out dealing drugs in you limo ( as bill puts it ) why were you not at the meeting.

Been their done it got the Tee shirt. does anyone get the feeling its ground hog day

For those that feel they do not wish to take the risk of giving money to the NLCA.

Many fighting funds have come and gone and you are still in the same position you were 5-6 years back.
The nlca under thier own admision have been taken up the garden path by VOSA & the DFt
can you afford to take this risk any longer, We have watched the U-tube presentation and if you are a veteren operator
then you will agree Same speaches same comments on dark ages and drug dealers that we heard years back.
To the newbee they might be great fighting speaches but to the veterans just hollow words.
we belive the NLCA do not have the man power to cope with public enquires if the majority of operators went this route,
you could be left on a limb for weeks or possibly ages waiting for you turn can you afford this.

You Need To Act Now and independant this is you business

we have located this company.

This is a proffesional Company that will fight you corner for you in the most Proffesional Manner
Including a public Enquiry.

Concerned about operator licensing? Want to know where you stand? We will review your operator licence status allowing you to find out and deal with problems BEFORE VOSA are involved and we will do it for FREE.

Your review will give you the peace of mind to know you are doing things correctly, or in the worst case scenario, you will be well informed of the problems you might encounter.

At the conclusion of your free review, if you wish, you will be taken through all of our findings, we will discuss our recommendations with you, in line with VOSA best operating practice and roadworthiness guidance.

We will visit your site at a prearranged time and the free review is provided strictly on a no obligation basis.
